BEYOND THE HOSPITAL GATE
Community and Outreach
Some of our most meaningful work happens outside our clinic walls, in the
neighborhoods, farms and homes around Kipipiri, Kenya.
WALKING INTO THE COMMUNITY
Trust Built One Conversation at a Time
Our founder and staff regularly walk into the community to
meet people where they are. These visits are not formal
inspections. They are simple, human conversations with
families dealing with mental health struggles, addiction, or the
isolation that often comes with both.
A CALMER KIND OF CARE
The Grazing Yard
Cattle graze peacefully under the trees on our grounds. It has become a favorite spot for patients who need a slow walk and a quiet mind.
Many tell us that a short walk there does more for their nerves than they expected.
TEAM, ROUTINE, BELONGING
Mount Vernon Hospital Gordon Soccer Team
Open to patients working on their recovery and to members of
the wider community. Sport builds routine, teamwork and a
sense of belonging, all of which matter for anyone recovering
from illness, addiction or a difficult period in life.
